Oprah Winfrey to auction contents from Chicago apartment
Oprah Winfrey, a media magnet who has also in recent times started venturing into the acting business, will be selling some of her antique furniture, ceramics, prints, paintings as well as memorabilia from her apartment in Chicago next month so as to benefit the education foundation she started, the auctioning house which is said to be in charge of the sale said early Tuesday morning.
The sale, which is set to begin on April 27th, is expected to feature properties from her downtown condominium.
According to the officials who will be in charge of the auction, the proceeds that will gained from the auction which is set to go down next month, will be given to Oprah’s foundation in South Africa called The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation.
"She is an excellent collector, very well educated," Hindman said about Oprah. "She has lots of different interests and over the years she has collected all sorts of different things."
The big item in the sale which has people talking already even before the auction begins is a painting which was created or painted by a well renowned artist in America who goes by the name of Richard Miller. The painting in itself was give the “Nude in Red Robe” and will cost you abot80,000 to 120,000.
That said there also a number of paintings that will also be up for sale with many of them going for between 20,000 dollars and 40,000 dollars.
